This bill proposes to suspend the implementation of any federal law, regulation, order, or official action that would substantially modify or supersede Oklahoma's voter registration or election administration laws and procedures, except for elections for federal office. The bill creates a committee composed of state legislators, the Attorney General, and other officials to propose changes to the time, place, and manner of conducting state and local elections if such a federal action is determined to occur. The committee would have the authority to temporarily modify election dates and deadlines to ensure no other election in the state is held on the same date as a federal election, and its recommendations would need to be enacted by the Legislature. The bill would take effect on November 15, 2023.
