This bill amends the existing Oklahoma law to authorize absentee voters to cast a provisional ballot in certain situations. Specifically, absentee voters can cast a provisional ballot on election day at their assigned polling place or at an in-person absentee voting site in the county where they are registered if their absentee ballot has not been received by the county election board by election day, or if the absentee voter received a notice of rejection of their absentee ballot on or before election day. The provisional ballot will only be counted if the county election board confirms that the absentee ballot was not received or was rejected. The bill also provides that the new law will become effective on November 1, 2023.
