Bill Summary

AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to removing restrictions on crossbow size and draw weight when used for hunting

AI Summary

This bill removes restrictions on the size and draw weight of crossbows used for hunting in New York. Previously, the law required crossbows to have a minimum limb width of 17 inches, a minimum peak draw weight of 100 pounds, and a maximum peak draw weight of 200 pounds. The bill eliminates these size and draw weight requirements, allowing hunters to use crossbows of any size and power as long as the trigger has a working safety.
