This bill amends existing law to require that any new unitary integrated voter system implemented after the effective date of the act (January 1, 2024) must utilize technology that provides voters with a unique identifier to allow them to track their paper ballot online and confirm that it was counted and their votes were correctly recorded. The bill retains the existing requirement that all ballots used for any election be printed on paper to ensure a fair and accurate count, and that polling places and in-person absentee voting locations provide a means for any voter who requires assistance by reason of blindness, disability, or inability to read or write to cast a ballot privately and independently.
