This bill establishes procedures for voters with disabilities to independently and privately mark a mail ballot or use an electronic voting device with assistive technology in mail ballot elections. The Secretary of the State Election Board will create these procedures, including a method for voters with disabilities to request such a ballot. Upon receiving the ballot application, the county election board will transmit the ballot and materials electronically to the voter. The voter can then return the ballot either electronically or by printing it and mailing or hand-delivering it to the county election board. The bill provides an effective date of November 1, 2023.
