This bill amends existing Oklahoma law to require that proof of identity provided by a person appearing to vote must include a photograph of the person. The bill maintains the existing requirements that the proof of identity document must show the person's name, which substantially conforms to the name in the precinct registry, and must have an expiration date that is after the date of the election. The bill also allows a voter who does not have the required photo ID to cast a provisional ballot by signing an affidavit swearing or affirming their identity, which would then be verified through other information in the voter registration database. The bill is set to take effect on November 1, 2023.
