This bill amends Tennessee law to revise provisions related to security guards and officers. Specifically, it: 1) removes a subsection from the law regarding security guard/officer registration; 2) changes the law to make it unlawful to knowingly employ an unregistered security guard/officer, with penalties for violations including license suspension for establishments that serve alcohol; and 3) adds an exemption from security guard/officer registration requirements for certain restaurant and hotel employees whose primary responsibilities do not involve security services. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2023.
