This bill amends the labor law to require that state agencies protect the salary and benefits of employees whose positions are eliminated due to privatization, agency reorganization, closure, or workforce reduction. Specifically, the bill provides that such employees who are subsequently transferred to a different state agency position must: (1) receive the same hourly salary as previously if the new position is at the same or higher grade level; (2) retain all accrued sick leave; (3) retain, cash out, or use accrued vacation leave; and (4) be paid relocation expenses by the hiring agency.
