This bill establishes an educational program related to the prevention of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and discrimination based on religion, race, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression. The New York State Department of Education will contract with an outside expert organization to create age-appropriate curriculum resources, including lesson plans and instructional materials, for students, parents, and school personnel. The program will provide guidelines and methods for preventing and identifying these forms of discrimination, as well as information on how to report incidents. The materials will be made available on the Department's website in multiple languages.
