This bill requires that all moneys in the pro rata portion of the Public Land Trust be transferred to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. The bill amends the existing law to establish a process for state departments and agencies that collect receipts from the use of ceded or public land trust lands to determine and transfer the Office of Hawaiian Affairs' 20% pro rata share of those receipts on a quarterly basis. The bill also repeals a prior law that had set a fixed $15.1 million annual payment to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs from the Public Land Trust. Additionally, the bill states that it does not resolve or settle any claims of Native Hawaiians to the income and proceeds of the Public Land Trust.
