This bill establishes a food and product innovation network within the Agribusiness Development Corporation in Hawaii. The network aims to help businesses in the state capitalize on the "made in Hawaii", "produced in Hawaii", or "processed in Hawaii" brand, create world-class products, and scale up production by providing access to manufacturing equipment and industry expertise. The bill appropriates funds to set up food and product innovation facilities on the islands of Molokai, Oahu, and Hawaii. These facilities, which include the Department of Education's food and product innovation center in Kekaha, Kauai, and various university-affiliated centers, will offer resources such as new product development support, low-risk commercial production, and guidance on process optimization and export compliance.
