This bill amends the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 to require the provision of training and information to certain personnel relating to food allergy identification and response. Specifically, it requires the Secretary of Agriculture to develop and publish training modules on food allergy prevention, identification of symptoms, and appropriate responses. Local food service personnel must complete this training and receive a certification. The bill also authorizes the Secretary to provide this training to personnel under other child nutrition programs, such as the special milk program and the summer food service program. Additionally, the bill requires the Secretary to submit proposed nutrition education materials for use in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) that incorporate evidence-based findings on food allergies and potentially allergenic foods.
