AI Summary

This bill amends Tennessee's firearms laws in two ways. First, it creates a new offense for storing a firearm or ammunition in a motor vehicle or boat unless it is kept out of plain sight and locked in the trunk, glove box, or a secure container. Violators will face a Class C misdemeanor penalty, but cannot be fined or jailed - they must only complete a firearm safety course. Second, the bill requires gun owners to report the loss or theft of a firearm to law enforcement within 24 hours, with the same penalty of a Class C misdemeanor and mandatory firearm safety training.
