This bill amends the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to provide new definitions and relief related to protection from abuse orders. Specifically, it adds a definition for "electronic monitoring device," which is a GPS-enabled device that can continuously monitor and report a person's location within a 100-mile radius. The bill also allows courts to require defendants to wear such a device if they are found to pose a substantial risk of violating a final protection from abuse order or committing a crime against the victim. The device must be worn for the entire duration of the final protection order, unless the court finds good cause to remove it earlier and notifies the victim.
