This bill amends the Public Officers Law to require certain individuals, including statewide elected officials, state officers or employees, members of the legislature, legislative employees, political party chairs, candidates for statewide elected office or the legislature, and members of regional economic development councils (even if they are volunteers), to file annual financial disclosure statements. The statements must be filed with the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government, except for members of the legislature and legislative candidates, who must file with the Legislative Ethics Commission. The bill also provides that these financial disclosure statements must be filed on or before May 15th with respect to the preceding calendar year.
