This bill amends the Public Officers Law to require certain individuals, including statewide elected officials, state officers or employees, members of the legislature, legislative employees, political party chairs, candidates for statewide elected office or the legislature, and members of regional economic development councils (even if they are volunteers), to file annual financial disclosure forms. The forms must be filed by May 15th with the Legislative Ethics Commission or the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government, depending on the individual's position. The bill also sets the effective date for this change as the first of June following the date it becomes law.
