This bill amends RCW 46.44.110 to provide compensation for tow truck operators dispatched by law enforcement or other agencies to recover and impound vehicles that have caused damage to public highways, bridges, or other state property. The bill allows the state to recover civil damages not only for the damage to the infrastructure, but also for the costs of the tow truck operator's services, including vehicle recovery, impound, and storage charges. The amount recoverable for the tow truck operator's charges is presumed to be the amount established under the fee schedule adopted pursuant to RCW 46.55.118.
