AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to instruction in financial management
AI Summary
This bill amends the Education Law to require all school districts in New York State to provide instruction in financial management, including basic financial literacy, budgeting, savings, credit, debt, insurance, and investment, to students in grades four through eight. The Commissioner of Education will establish and define the financial management program in regulations, and provide technical assistance in developing age-appropriate curricula for these courses.
