This bill amends the public health law to provide payments to rural hospitals designated as critical access hospitals. Specifically, it states that on and after April 1, 2025, the rates of payment for certain services provided by these hospitals will be equal to 101% of the reasonable costs of providing such services. The reasonable costs will be determined in a manner consistent with how payments are made for outpatient critical access hospital services under the federal Social Security Act. The implementation of these provisions is subject to the appropriation of necessary funds.
