This bill amends the Public Health Law to provide for payments to rural hospitals designated as "critical access hospitals" under the federal Social Security Act. Specifically, the bill requires that on and after April 1, 2025, the rates of payment for certain services provided by these critical access hospitals be equal to 101% of the reasonable costs of providing such services. The reasonable costs will be determined in a manner consistent with the way outpatient critical access hospital services are paid for under the federal Social Security Act. The implementation of these provisions is subject to the appropriation of specific funding for this purpose.
