AI Summary

This bill amends the Maryland Medical Assistance Program, Maryland Children's Health Program, and Community First Choice Program to increase the reimbursement rate for certain healthcare providers. Specifically, it requires the Governor's proposed budget to include a 10% rate increase for these providers in fiscal year 2024, up from the previous 4% increase. The bill also requires nursing homes to annually submit a cost report to the Maryland Department of Health, which must include documentation of wage disbursement. The Department may take enforcement action, such as recouping funding or suspending the provider, if the nursing home fails to submit the report or pay the required wages. Additionally, the bill mandates that 90% of the fiscal year 2024 funding increase be used to fund wage increases for healthcare workers, nursing home staff providing direct care, and nursing home support staff providing direct care.
