This bill expands medical assistance hospice service coverage to include room and board expenses for persons receiving hospice services in a community-based setting, to the extent that such room and board expenses are not otherwise covered under the state's medical assistance or general assistance programs. This change will allow individuals receiving hospice care, who are 21 years of age or under, to continue receiving treatment for the condition that led to their terminal illness diagnosis without waiving coverage for those related services.
