This bill requires the commissioner of motor vehicles to enter into an agreement with the Dominican Republic for the reciprocal recognition of driver's licenses. The agreement would allow New York residents living in the Dominican Republic to exchange their New York driver's license for a Dominican license without taking the knowledge and road tests, and vice versa for Dominican residents living in New York. The agreement would also establish procedures for verifying the validity of each other's licenses and exclude certain license types like commercial and enhanced licenses.
