This bill appropriates $600,000 in fiscal years 2024 and 2025 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Higher Education for immediate transfer to College Possible. The funding will support programming focused on college admission and graduation for low-income students through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support at both the high school and postsecondary levels. The appropriation must be used for programs supporting students who are Minnesota residents and attending colleges or universities within Minnesota. College Possible must report annually to the legislative committees with jurisdiction over higher education and K-12 education on the activities funded by this appropriation, including information about the expansion of College Possible in Minnesota, the number of students and coaches served, and the total hours of community service by students.
