This bill establishes the Psychedelic Medicine Task Force to advise the Minnesota legislature on the legal, medical, and policy issues associated with the legalization of psychedelic medicine in the state. The task force will consist of government officials, healthcare professionals, and members of the public with relevant expertise. The task force will survey existing studies on the therapeutic efficacy of psychedelic medicines, evaluate their effectiveness in treating mental health conditions, compare their efficacy to current treatments, and develop a comprehensive plan for the legalization and regulation of psychedelic medicine in Minnesota, including addressing federal law and policy. The task force is required to submit two reports to the legislature by February 2024 and January 2025 detailing its findings and recommendations.
