This bill establishes the New York State Local Emergency Services Account, a special fund to reimburse county and municipal fire, police, and emergency medical services departments, volunteer fire companies, and non-profit emergency medical services for expenses related to the procurement of equipment, apparatus, vehicles, goods, services, and personal protective equipment. The bill directs 41.7% of the revenues collected under Section 186-f of the Tax Law to be deposited into this new account, instead of the State General Fund. Reimbursements from the account will be made upon application to the New York State Division of Homeland Security, which may require submission of supporting documentation.
