AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the employment of mental health professionals by school districts

This bill amends the Education Law to require school districts to employ mental health professionals, including certified school psychologists and licensed or certified school social workers, in addition to the health professionals already required. The mental health professionals will be responsible for assessing students' mental health needs, providing interventions and services, and making recommendations about the school environment.
