This bill amends the Executive Law to require the Division of Criminal Justice Services to report to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Use-of-Force Data Collection Program. The reporting must include details on any incidents where a police or peace officer brandishes, uses, or discharges a firearm or non-lethal weapon, uses a chokehold or similar restraint, deploys chemical agents, uses an impact weapon, or engages in conduct resulting in death or serious bodily injury. The report must include demographic information about the individuals involved. Failure to report can result in the withholding of state funding to the responsible law enforcement agency.
