This bill appropriates $10 million from the general fund to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to provide a grant to the Latino Museum of Minnesota. The grant will be used to acquire land and to predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip a cultural facility that will serve as a museum focused on promoting and preserving Latino historical artifacts and art forms, including documentaries, film, dance, music, and visual, written, and print forms, to advance the richness of Minnesota's Latino cultural identity. The appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to the state's capital project cancellation statute.
