This bill appropriates $10 million from the general fund in fiscal year 2023 to the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development for a grant to the Latino Museum of Minnesota. The grant will be used to acquire land and to predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip a cultural facility to be used as a museum that focuses on promoting and preserving Latino historical artifacts and art forms, including documentaries, film, dance, music, and visual, written, and print forms to advance the richness of Minnesota's Latino cultural identity. The appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to the requirements of Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
