This bill amends the existing Massachusetts law to require the Commonwealth to reimburse cities and towns for the mandated costs of providing early voting, including expenses for additional personnel, overtime, voting equipment, and data entry. The state auditor will determine the incremental costs for each municipality, and the state secretary will include these estimated costs in the annual budget request and distribute the appropriated funds to the cities and towns prior to the incurrence of the costs.
