This bill amends Section 25B of Chapter 54 of the General Laws to require the Commonwealth to reimburse cities and towns for the costs they incur in implementing the state's early voting provisions, including the costs of additional personnel, overtime for municipal staff, and the expenses of voting booths and privacy screens. The State Auditor will determine and report the estimated incremental costs for the next fiscal year, and the State Secretary will include a budget request for these funds, which will be distributed to the cities and towns within 30 days of the costs being incurred.
