This bill amends existing Massachusetts law to enhance the military family advocacy program's role in addressing domestic violence and child abuse and neglect. Specifically, it requires the Department of Children and Families to collect information about the military status of individuals involved in credible allegations of domestic or child abuse and to share that information with the appropriate military authorities. It also requires the Department to enter into memorandums of understanding with local military family advocacy programs to establish procedures for reporting, investigating, and maintaining confidentiality in cases involving military personnel.
