This bill amends the existing law to create a "youth training wage" for workers under the age of 18 who work 20 hours or less per week and require a work permit. During the first 120 hours of employment with a new employer, these workers can be paid a minimum wage of $10 per hour, which is lower than the standard minimum wage. This provision is intended to provide a training period for these young workers as they enter the workforce.
