This bill, titled "Ensuring student representation, Aidan's Law," aims to ensure that school committees in cities, towns, and regional school districts, as well as the boards of trustees of charter schools, meet at least once every other month during the school year with a student advisory committee. The student advisory committee would consist of five members elected by the student body, and the committee would elect a chairperson to serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the school committee or board of trustees. The school committee or board of trustees may also designate a student outreach coordinator to facilitate the establishment of the student advisory committee and regularly inform them of the committee's agenda.
