Bill Summary
Relative to compensation of certain employees. Labor and Workforce Development.
AI Summary
This bill amends Massachusetts law to provide an affirmative defense for employers who fail to pay employees for work on Sundays or holidays, or fail to pay overtime compensation, if the employer can prove it acted in good faith based on a written opinion letter from a state agency. The defense would apply even if the administrative interpretation is later modified, rescinded, or determined to be invalid. Sections 1 and 2 of the bill apply retroactively to all causes of action, including those currently pending.
