This bill proposes to increase the pensions of certain retired judges who are veterans and have served at least 90 days on active duty in the armed forces while serving as a judge. Specifically, the bill would allow eligible retired judges to receive a pension for life at an annual rate equal to three-fourths of the current annual rate of regular compensation for a judge currently serving in the same or similar position. The bill also requires the state retirement board to notify all retired judges collecting a pension of this opportunity and allow them 30 days to apply for the pension increase.
