This bill establishes maternal mental and behavioral health care workforce grants. The Secretary of Health and Human Services can award grants to entities to establish or expand programs to grow and diversify the maternal mental and behavioral health care workforce, with priority given to entities that demonstrate a commitment to recruiting and retaining students and faculty from medically underserved populations or maternal health care deserts. The grants can be used to establish new schools or programs or expand existing ones, including through scholarships. The Secretary is required to provide technical assistance, develop workforce standards, and submit a report on the effectiveness of the grant program.
