This bill authorizes the town of Wayland to hold annual and special town meetings with voters located in a common, physical location, fully remote, or partially remote (known as a "hybrid town meeting"), notwithstanding any contrary state law or charter provision. The bill requires that any remote or hybrid town meeting be recorded and the recording made available for public viewing on the town's website for at least 30 days after the meeting, and that the recording become a permanent town record. All actions taken at a remote or hybrid town meeting held under this bill are ratified, validated, and confirmed to the same extent as if the meeting had been conducted entirely in person. The bill takes effect upon passage.
