This bill appropriates $6 million in fiscal year 2024 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development for a grant to the Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County, a non-profit organization, to acquire property and construct, furnish, and equip a youth center in the city of Minneapolis. The center, to be known as the Rosa Parks Center for the Development of African-American Youth, will provide economic development, mediation and reconciliation, conflict resolution, leadership, education, recreational, and individual self-growth programming for youth. The Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County may contract with other non-profit organizations and the Young People's Task Force of the Unity Community Mediation Team to provide programming at the center.
