This bill amends the Transportation Law to create a New York State Route 878, Nassau Expressway study. The study will be conducted by the New York State Department of Transportation, in consultation with various agencies and stakeholders, to evaluate the costs of completing the construction of State Route 878 in Nassau and Queens counties. The study will examine the original plans, previous studies, design and safety of the configuration and signage, estimated total cost and duration, impact on local traffic patterns, and available federal funding. The commissioner will issue a report with detailed recommendations and findings within one year of the effective date of the bill. The bill will take effect immediately and expire one year and six months after the effective date.
