This bill requires the New York State Department of Transportation, in consultation with other state and local agencies, to conduct a study to evaluate the costs of completing the construction of State Route 878, also known as the Nassau Expressway, in Nassau and Queens counties. The study will examine the original plans from the 1940s, previous transportation studies, the design and safety of the expressway, the estimated total cost and duration of the project, the impact on local traffic patterns, and available federal funding. The commissioner must issue a detailed report with recommendations within one year of the bill's effective date. The provisions of this bill will expire one year and six months after the effective date.
