This bill amends the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to provide an additional exemption from jury duty for caregivers who are not employed outside the home and have primary responsibility for the active care of a child under seven years old or an individual with a permanent physical or intellectual disability, if they do not have alternative care available or cannot afford it. The court may require a notarized affidavit from the caregivers to verify the conditions, and the caregivers may be excused permanently or for a limited period as determined by the court. The bill will take effect 60 days after enactment.
