This bill appropriates $4,500,000 in fiscal year 2024 from the general fund to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development for a grant to the North Minneapolis community, in partnership with nonprofit organizations, to acquire property and construct, renovate, furnish, and equip a year-round indoor public market. The market is intended to serve as a gathering place for North Minneapolis youth and families to connect with their history and culture, as well as engage in commerce. This is a one-time appropriation that remains available until the project is completed or abandoned.
