AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to correctional facility visits by the correctional association

This bill amends the Correction Law to authorize the Correctional Association of New York (CANY) to visit correctional facilities at any time and without advance notice. The bill grants CANY access to certain records and information about correctional facilities, including data on admissions, custody, releases, programming, staffing, deaths, incidents, disciplinary actions, grievances, and parole. The bill also allows CANY to conduct confidential surveys and receive confidential communications from incarcerated individuals and staff.
