This bill amends the education law to include a faculty or staff member on the board of trustees of community colleges. The bill changes the composition of the community college board of trustees from 10 members to 11 members, with the additional member being elected by and from among the faculty and staff of the college. The faculty or staff member will serve a two-year term and have the same parliamentary privileges as other voting members, including the right to make and second motions and place items on the agenda. The election of the faculty or staff member will be conducted in accordance with rules and regulations promulgated by the respective faculty senate or equivalent faculty shared governance body of each campus.
