This bill, the Assisting In Developing Youth Employment Act (AID Youth Employment Act), would amend the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to provide funding, on a competitive basis, for summer and year-round employment opportunities for youth ages 14 through 24. The bill defines key terms like "eligible youth," "subsidized employment," and "tribal area," and establishes two new competitive grant programs - one for summer employment and one for year-round employment. The bill requires the Secretary to allocate funds, set performance measures, conduct annual reviews, and implement a system of continuous quality improvement. The bill authorizes $375 million per year for the summer employment program and $500 million per year for the year-round employment program from fiscal years 2024 through 2028.
