This bill amends the Town Law to require the election of fire district commissioners to take place on the same date and at the same polling place as the election of school board members for the municipality. The method and manner of submitting, preparing, and providing ballots, using voting machines, qualifying voters, and conducting the election will be the same or as close as practical to the school board election, as determined by the county board of elections. The costs associated with the ballots and any additional poll workers necessary for the fire district election will be borne by the fire district, and the local board of elections will appoint and prescribe the duties, titles, ranks, and salaries of the poll workers.
