This bill amends the Public School Code of 1949 to require school entities (including school districts, charter schools, and non-public schools) to annually provide parent educational information regarding eating disorders for students in grades six through twelve. The bill directs the Department of Education, in conjunction with the Department of Health, to establish an Eating Disorders Task Force that will develop and implement guidelines for this parent education. The guidelines will include the development of letters for school personnel and parents/guardians on the importance of eating disorder prevention and resources. The bill requires the task force to meet at least twice per school year to reassess the information provided to schools and parents.
