This bill provides accidental disability retirement benefits for Lawrence R. Hrazanek, a senior investigator employed by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance who participated in the World Trade Center rescue, recovery, and cleanup operations. Despite retiring in October 2015, Hrazanek will now be entitled to a 75% accidental disability retirement benefit based on a determination by the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System that his participation in the World Trade Center operations permanently incapacitated him for his duties. All costs associated with implementing this act will be borne by the State of New York.
